The University of British Columbia is committed to providing its employees and students with the best possible environment for working and learning, an environment that allows friendship and collegiality to flourish. It is essential that the University faculty, staff and residents share responsibility to create a hospitable climate in which we all feel safe, respected and free to pursue our work and training.
There are two offices which provide assistance to those experiencing intimidation or harassment:
- For staff – the UBC Equity Office
- For faculty and learners – the Office of the Associate Dean, Equity.
Both offices work to prevent discrimination and harassment in the workplace and learning environment. We believe that individuals need to be able to discuss their concerns and to seek advice and assistance in a safe and private environment.
Refer to the UBC Postgraduate Training Policies for more information.
